MARIELLA PURVIS, PA-C
Ms. Mariella Purvis, PA-C is a Physician Assistant to Dr. Maral Skelsey and has been at the Dermatologic Surgery Center since 2008. She has practiced dermatology for the past ten years and is a healthcare provider licensed to practice medicine with a physician's supervision.
Ms. Purvis works with Dr. Skelsey in the evaluation and management of the Center's medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologic patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, moles and warts in both children and adults. She performs the full range of treatment procedures including biopsies, cryosurgery, excisions, as well as laser hair removal, vein therapy and laser treatment of sun damage.
Ms. Purvis received her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Richmond in 1994 and her Masters in Medical Science as a Physician Assistant in 1998 from Emory University in Atlanta. After two years as a physician's assistant in family practice she began her specialization in general dermatology and dermatologic surgery, completing her training in 2001.
Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Purvis is a frequent international traveler. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children.
